SAMPLE processing. Your extended arm into the field.
Since our staff members besides, scientific divers are also studied scientists, we can support you in the processing of your probes on site immediately after sampling. This includes, in addition to professional preservation of the samples, further processing, so that the specimens arrive at you ready for analysis. The finished samples will be shipped to your desired destination.

MAPPING. We are your window to the underwater world.
Before it is possible to plan the exact implementation of an idea, a detailed picture of the conditions is mandatory. The same applies to any action underwater, whether related to research or industrial projects. Often this is also required by public authorities to protect the environment and local ecosystems.
As an independent service institution, we provide you with the best possible insight into your aquatic target area. Among other things, information is collected on underwater structures, depth and distance conditions, ecosystem composition and identification of potential risks or problems. This data is recorded, for example, in form of photos, tables and maps. The exact procedure we will, of course, adapt to your needs.
DATA work. We give you the overview.
New sensor technology is very helpful to generate data that makes our research even more precise and meaningful. One disadvantage, however, is that data sets are getting larger and larger and more effort is needed to process them in order to store them in a retrievable and understandable way. We know from experience that as a scientist you have to take on a variety of tasks, there is often no time for such “little things”. For a permanent employed data manager for those, usually temporary, tasks there is no money.
As a solution, we offer you our individually bookable data work, so that valuable and hardly collected data are not getting lost. We take care of the preparation of the raw data, the corresponding formatting up to the insertion of the data records into the corresponding databases. On request, we will develop together with you a permanent (partially) automated system to facilitate your data maintenance, especially with large recurring data sets.
WORKSHOPS. With safety the results.
We want you to work safely and successfully, even if you do not require our full service. Therefore, we are happy to share our experience with you and your team. During our trainings we impart theoretical background knowledge and give specific tips adapted to your task. These can then be implemented in practical exercises. The training courses relate mainly to the areas of (scientific) diving and include topics such as,
- Diving theory: Theory refresher, area-related technical or medical peculiarities
- Equipment Check: What equipment is available, What is needed, How do I use it, Equipment maintenance
- Diving safety: What is important for safe diving; How do I deal with certain situations above and below water; How do I behave in the diving team?
- Diving practice: How to dive properly, buoyancy, practical exercises & project-related tips

It is important to us to show people, young or old, our beautiful underwater world and to bring its importance to our rural life. Because only what you know you're willing to protect. The more we get excited about our oceans, the greater the chance of actually making a difference. Therefore, our marine biological (diving) courses are not only for scientists or those who want to become scientists, but for EVERYONE, whether as a class trip, study excursion, dive club/association or private.

Our service addresses clients from different disciplines all over the world, so we are in contact with various institutions. The SDS stands for environmentally friendly and goal-oriented research, which is why we support cooperation between groups interests.
